another amazingly dormant set July 5, 2007

I just love my Bodacious Bouquet stamp set.  I thought I’d play with this set while I impatiently wait for some new sets to arrive. 

I soooo love this color combination. 

Cardstock used: Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi, Groovy Guava, Really Rust, and Shimmery White. 

Inks used: Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi, Groovy Guava, Certainly Celery, Versamark.  I used my Really Rust stampin’ write marker to add a small border to Shimmery White. 

  Tab to left side of card created with Round Tab Punch and Groovy Guava cardstock.  Stamped “amazing” to tab from Amazing to Zany stamp set. 

All flowers have Iridescent Ice covering them just to add some shimmery bling.  Centers of flowers pop due to stampin’ dimensionals.  I just love all the depth and dimension the flowers have.  Very pleased with the turnout.

I used On Board Simon Lower chipboard letter covered with Really Rust cardstock and sanded edges.  Used Print Pattern BG stamp and Versamark. 

Card size: 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ out of Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi mat is 4″ x 4″, Shimmery White is 3 3/4″ x 3 3/4″.

Still boggled with the thought of a dormant list.  I am glad to see that this stamp set will be pinching onto us and not going farewell.

Card size is 3 1/4″ x 6 5/8″ with 5/8″ cut off of front side (so inside will show when closed).  I used Crab & Co. stamp set and Sandy Shells wheel (seen in below pic).  My cardstock colors are Blue Bayou, River Rock, Soft Sky, Real Red, and Shimmery White.  Inks used are Blue Bayou for sentiment, Soft Sky for watercoloring sky behind crab and present bow, Real Red for crabby and present, River Rock for sand and shells.  I used StazOn Jet Black ink to stamp images.  Crystal Effects applied to crab, shells, and dots on gift.  Stampin’ Dimensionals used to give a little “pop” effect. 

This above pic shows the inside outer edge of the card.  I used River Rock classic stampin’ pad and my wheel.  Added Red Grosgrain ribbon and linen thread with a birthday hat covered with crystal effects to accent the inside strip.

Card size: 3 1/4″ x 6 5/8″ with 5/8″ cut from front (fits into su! long notes envelopes).

Front crab strip:  2″ x 2 5/8″ Shimmery White and 2 1/4″ x 2 5/8″ Soft Sky.

Inside strips: River rock 7/8″ x 6 5/8″, Soft Sky 1″ x 6 5/8″, Real Red 1 1/2″ x 6 5/8″.

Tip: When using Crystal Effects, I apply desired amount to area and carefully spread with a toothpick so I don’t cross any stamped lines.

Here is a 2nd card I made for the weekend sketch challenge #8.  I wanted to use bright colors and found this combination in the new collection book.  Many fun layers of cardstock.  Turned out busy & colorful…perfect for a young teen girl or someone who needs their day brighten and uplifted!

Stamp set used is Polka Dots & Paisley.  The card is made with Soft Sky 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″.  Middle pieces are Certainly Celery Prints Designer Series Paper measuring 2″ x 4 1/4″ and Pumpkin Pie mat measuring 2 1/4″ x 4 1/4″.  Upper circle is made with Coluzzle and added paper piercing.  Scalloping made with a 1/2″ circl punch and Real Red cardstock.  All paisleys were colored with stampin’ write markers (Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Certainly Celery, and Basic Black).  Accents to paisleys are rhinestone brads and a flower made with On Board Blossoms & Basics covered with Soft Sky and sanded.  Used Spring Bouquet Flower punch with Real Red and Pumpkin Pie cardstock and held together with rhinestone brad.  Added Black Gingham ribbon and sponged card edges with Basic Black. 

beast featured in On Stage July 2, 2007

I thought I’d introduce you to my bailey bear featured in the current On Stage.  He is my 4 year old Saint Bernard weighing in only at 170 pounds.  He’s just a big cuddly, protective, lovable, lazy bear.  I had a lot of fun created the two 6″ x 6″ scrapbook pages featuring him.  Nothing funnier than chasing this big boy around with a camera trying to capture some pics.   My husband just rolls his eyes due to the dog getting published before him!!

happy to doodle-weekend sketch challenge #8 July 1, 2007

This card  was made for a weekend sketch challenge that I participate in.   It’s from a MUST SEE blog site.  Just hop on over to Beate’s Fresh & Fun blog and be prepared to say “Wow!”. 

This is my creation.  I work only on weekends at our local downtown hospital.  So, I’m at work brainstorming my ideas for the weekend sketch challenges.  Okay, so just a little distracted when working with post open-heart patients. LOL

My base is a 5 1/2″ x 11″ piece of Whisper White Cardstock.  Middle strip is 3″ x 5 1/2″ of Soft Sky with a 3 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ matting of Chocolate Chip.  The upper half-circle was created with coluzzle cutting system and small corner rounder for scalloping.   Also continued scalloped detail at base of card.  The flower and background doodling (on soft sky) is from Doodle This.  Happy stamp is from Polka Dots & Paisley. 

The flower was easy and quick to assemble.

I used Whisper White and Soft Sky.  Flower stamped with Chocolate Chip.  Watercolored the white petals with Soft Sky, and used uniball signo white gel pen for Soft Sky cardstock petals.  Middle of flower is a chipboard piece from On Board Blossoms & Basics covered with Chocolate Chip cardstock and edges were sanded.  All held together & attached to card with rhinestone brad. 

The sentiment of the card is simple, but just right for the card.

I wanted to have more than just the sentiment at the bottom.  I used another doodle stamp from Doodle This.  The flower is made with chipboard from On Board Blossoms & Basics.  They are two “+” ‘s that I covered with Whisper White and Soft Sky.  Sanded, sponged some color, dotted circles with gel pen and Chocolate Chip stampin’ write marker.  I punched a 1/4″-inch circle out of Chocolate Chip cardstock.  Flower held together with rhinestone brad and attached to card with stampin’ dimensional.  If you look closely, you can see the details to the soft sky middle strip.  Finished off with chocolate grosgrain and narrow white organdy.
