Here is my card for Beate’s wsc#25.  This weekends sketch challenge is a z-fold card.  You can view details and directions on Beate’s blog Fresh & Fun.

I have been seeing posts with the good ol’ stamp set Lovely As a Tree, so I thought I’d dust it off and use it.  I actually used a couple older stamp sets for this card.

There are so many details and it can be confusing for me to type out the explanations.  For reasons of trying to keep it simple (have been battling a migraine for past 2 days)….I’m just going to post a couple pics from different angles so you can see all the fun details this card has:)   You can also see samples by Charmaine Ikach, Jenn Balcer, Laurie Schmidlin, Lori Craig, and Sharon Harnist …..Check them out.  They are very talented.

Here is a side view of the card:

z-fold wsc#25 - sideview created a pocket on the inside section of the card which holds 2 tags (one with a simple elegant snow covered tree and one with a sentiment)…these can be tags or can be ornaments).

Here is a front view with the card open:

z-fold wsc#25 - front open viewI think it turned out beautiful.  I had trouble with this layout.  With the main front image on one side, I had to come up with something that would coordinate, “flow”, and not take away from this main image.

Here is a inside upclose/details pic:

Just a little FYI, I applied Icicle Stickles to the chipboard snowflakes & stamped trees.  I didn’t like the way it turned out on the trees.  I had to do a little experimenting, since I did this last and didn’t want to change things around.  I added a very small amount of White Embossing Powder over the wet Stickles and heated.  It is a cool turnout.  It “puffed” up and created a primarily white surface with a touch of glitter.  I don’t know if this is a known technique….I was just in a last-minute desperate situation which luckily turned out okay!

Before I post all the details & supplies, I want to share with you my little skunk.  Last night was Trick Or Treat here at my home.  My son is 3 years old who just thinks this holiday is so cool….ringing doorbells and getting candy:)
