DAY 2 – MFT’s THINK PINK October 23, 2007

Filed under: my favorite things — mjalbright @ 8:30 am

Here is day 2 of being “mifted” creations….I really should take a break soon.  I feel as if I’m running out of ideas and the brain needs to rest some:)  All creations for today are made with Think Pink stamp set from My Favorite Things.   Many know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  The nice perk to this set, when you purchase it, is that a percentage goes to Breast Cancer Research.  And while playing with this set, I discovered it is very versatile and can be used for all types of Awareness basically (just change the color of the ribbon to coordinate with what awareness you would like).

Being a nurse, I loved the fact that there was a itty-bitty stethoscope in this I made this card first:

 mft-just a reminder

I went with a red, black, and white color palette for this card so the lab coats/white tops would stand out.  The stethoscopes are detailed the two most common ways that med professionals sport them — I stamped them in silver and added a silver brad to the “bell” part (I think they are stinkin’ cute).

CARD BASE SIZE:  3-1/2″ x 7″ folded in half.

STAMP SETS USED:  MFT – Think Pink; SU! – Paisley BG.

CARDSTOCK USED:  Real Red, Basic Black, Shimmery White.

INKS USED:  Stazon Jet Black; Real Red, Basic Black, Going Gray, Blush Blossom, and Pretty in Pink Classic Stampin’ Pads; Encore Silver Pad.

ACCESSORIES USED:  Silver Brads; Aqua-Painter; Ticket Punch; Silver Elastic Cord; Word Window Punch: Black EP; Brayer.

This card was made with Beate’s WSC#24 layout:

mft-we’re in this togetherI wanted this card to be bright and cheerful with pink incorporated.  With the sentiment, I felt as if I would give it to someone battling this aweful disease…so it had to have an uplifting appearance.  I love how the skirt turned out:)

CARD BASE SIZE:  4″ X 8″ folded in half.

STAMP SET USED:  MFT – Think Pink.

CARDSTOCK USED:  Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, Tempting Turquoise, and Shimmery White CS; Petals & Paisleys DSP.

ACCESSORIES USED:  3/16″ Corner Rounder Punch; Pretty in Pink 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon; Stampin’ Dimensionals, Aqua-Painter.

This third one was made with the intent of keepin’ it simple and letting the images do all the talkin’:

I love how simple this card is with the white base.  It really makes the images stand out.  I wanted to use different skin tones as well to educate that Breast Cancer can affect every one of us and we need to all “believe” together that we can find a cure & educate each other!

CARD BASE SIZE:  4-3/4″ X 6″ folded in half for card front of 3″ x 4-3/4″.

STAMP SET USED:  MFT – Think Pink.

CARDSTOCK USED:  Shimmery White CS.

INKS USED:  Stazon Jet Black; Pretty in Pink, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise, Regal Rose, Blush Blossom, Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, and Going Gray Classic Stampin’ Pads.

ACCESSORIES USED:  Black Brads from Vintage Assortment; Crafters’ Tool Kit; Pretty in Pink 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon; Narrow Black Organdy Ribbon; Aqua-Painter.

Lastly, just completed this one so I thought I’d add it.  The thought of this one came to me while trying/pretending to watch the football game (being the supportive wife sitting next to my husband … while my mind is saying “stamp, stamp, stamp”)

After downloading all the other samples, I realized that I needed to make an “all pink” card to show.  But I also had to incorporate a brown because they just compliment each other so well.
