Lisa states, “These are adorable and my hubby would love the seeds! He has a garden the size of a built-in pool! Guess what I keep asking him to do? You got it…get rid of the garden and put in a pool! Ain’t gonna happen, is his response! Congrats on 200,000 hits! I read all the time!”

Those are some of our little Zinnias growing:)

Back to doing yard work and spring cleaning…ugh.  Maybe I will get to a card soon.  Have a wonderful day.

Lisa, please email me your address and I will get your cards out to you.

a very late Part 2 April 11, 2008

My title to last fridays post stated it was Part 1.  So, better late than never….here is Part 2.

I wanted to try out a flap card (you can view the tutorial here) to coordinate with the oh so fun card I made last friday that you can view here:

How adorable.  I really like the way this MFT Can Ya Dig It? set turned out.  Even more, the flap card contains my favorite flower seeds inside, Zinnia:) which a lucky viewer may have the opportunity to get their hands on.  DETAILS BELOW!!!

Here is the inside of the flap card that I used my handy dandy Scor-Pal tool to create in a flash:

Every spring, my son and I start little seedlings inside our home.  We start from scratch.  He waters them every day.  We take them outside on nice weather days.  We plant them in early summer.  I think it is a nice tradition I have started with him.  It has taught him to appreciate my flowers and to STAY OUT OF MY FLOWER BEDS…LOL.

Now, I reached 200,000 blog hits a little bit ago and want to reward/show my appreciation.  How about this set of cards featured here?  Interested?  I work all weekend so you have till Monday to leave a quick comment.  I’m going to have my little gardener pick a name which I will announce on Monday afternoon.

Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Taylor’s Cupcake Challenge #10 April 5, 2008

I’m so lovin’ Taylor’s challenges she posts on her blog, Taylored Expressions

Here is my sample for her sketch:

I did get the opportunity to do some paper shopping yesterday but it was really short lived.  Ethan was a wild little boy.  I should have known better, but I HAD TO GO..   Let’s just say, I will be returning tomorrow.  What I did find was this awesome patterned paper, ribbons, and brads that I used for this sample.

The stamps:  Cuppacakeabella and yummalicious stamps by Stamping Bella.  I just split the sentiment to make it work for the space I had.

The papers: patterned papers are by Daisy Bucket Designs and I used Sweet Marabella Francesca and Bianca.  Also used SU! Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, and Shimmery White CS.

The brads:  The medium sized orange glass ones are by creative cafe/imaginations.  The little brown ones I LOVE.  They are called ultra mini brads by Queen & Co.

The ribbons:  The orange striped organdy ribbon is by May Arts.  The green ribbon is actually paper ribbon by Daisy Bucket Designs.

Other accessories:  Due to the image “popping out” of the main image square, I couldn’t use my ticket corner punch…I used my word window punch to create the corners.  I used an aqua painter for coloring.  Boho Blossoms Punch to a piece of the patterned paper to create the flower near the sentiment.  Used 1-1/4″ & 1-3/8″ circle punches for sentiment.  All edges sponged with ink.

Now, head on over to Taylor’s blog to check out this awesome sketch.

Have a wonderful evening:)

Beate’s weekend sketch challenge #42 PART 1 April 4, 2008

Friday brings another one of Beate’s wsc.   This weeks sketch was very challenging for me.  I played, turned, restarted, and finally came up with a card that I am really pleased with.

beate wsc #42 sample  I’m not one who gossips, but I love the sentiment with this card.  And how spring-ish.  Makes me want to go outside and start prepping the flowerbeds and my very small garden.

I created this card using MFT new release set “Can Ya Dig It?” .   Last night I was telling my hubby that I have to go shopping this weekend for new updated patterned paper (picture the slight head shake and blank look in his eyes…lol).  And then I remembered MFT digital paper packs that I downloaded, printed, and put to work.

Couple things going on with that wheelbarrow:  I stamped the image on Shimmery White CS, watercolored in with Chocolate Chip and Close to Cocoa ink, applied Ranger Crackle Accents, let dry, cut out, used Pewter Jumbo Eyelet for wheel and Pewter wire for back leg stand and seed packet post.  I stamped 3 pots, cut out, and adhered to the back of the wheelbarrow.  I stamped the little seedling plants in the appropriate places.  Attached wheelbarrow to Shimmery White CS using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Here is a card I made with the same set to show more images:

mft can ya dig it sample  For this sample, I used Memory Box Inspire Collection for the background.  I purchased “flat” toothpicks to use for my seed packets.  I added some Cowboy Dew Drops for balance.  Added Crystal Effects to the pumpkin, carrot, peas, and flowers on the hat.  I just love how I have her holding the bunny (which is a gardeners nightmare…lol)

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and thanks for all the visits & comments this week:)   So appreciated!

What does that mean?  Over the past couple months, I’ve been creating a lot of stuff.  I guess you can say I have been having deep thoughts about all the stuff I make.  All the cards I post here get thown into a wicker storage bin on a high shelf where I usually never look at them again or I go through and take them apart.  Gasp right?  I can’t figure out the auction stuff and I’m not really sure who would want them.  But, I do know a small little group close to me that would like to have them some day… kids (when they are way older…lol)  I’m not going to give them the bin full of cards.  I’m gonna leave them this project I made:

TK book  It is a little memo book (4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″) that I’m going to add stamped, colored images to that I can just keep with me.  I did sign my signature & year to the front cover just to add a personal touch that I think they will appreciate.

I first saw CHF TK stamped images over at Debbie Olson’s site  (another fabulously talented woman I met out at CHA… and a long time follower) and fell in love with them.  Being someone who loves to color, I thought it would be fun to have some of the images.  The image above is TK The Rose Garden.  Let me tell you, it took 20 hours total to color in this image.  I “tried” to get it as close as possible to the original but that is impossible.  I also made a soldered charm to coordinate with the main image.  Added some May Arts ribbon to the side to hold charm and green stone in place.

Here is a close up of the image.  I used Prismas for coloring.  How am I doing with my new pencils?  I love them.

Have a great day:)

MFTeaser… releases & party tonight April 2, 2008

My Favorite Things is having a New Release Cocktail Party tonight, April 2 from 9-11 p.m. Eastern time. Lots of fun is planned including finding out how YOU can be the next MFT Guest Designer. Head over to the MFT forum on to find out all the details and we hope to see you there.

There are two new sets this month:  Mini is “Happy Mother’s Day” and a 4″ x 6″ set called “Can Ya Dig It?”.

This sample is created with the new mini set.  It can be used way past Mother’s Day for several other occassions.  Cut the outer framed text to create an image that you could use for a Get Well or Sympathy card.  I think it also resembles a nurse delivering flowers to a patient:)

mft mothers day card

I created the circular shaped card using Coluzzle Cutting System.  I placed Linen Thread around the pot and added a small tag.  I used my 3/16″ Corner Rounder Punch to create the scalloping to Glossy White CS.

Hope to chat with you tonight at the party….and come see revealed samples.

Have a great day.
