Beate’s weekend sketch challenge #71 March 6, 2009

Horray for Fridays!  Sharon Harnist will be hosting Beate’s weekend sketch challenge today, and she has come up with a wonderful sketch for all of us to try.  Head on over to Sharon’s site, Paperfections, to see the sketch.

I have another Sale-a-Bration sample to share.  This card features SU! Botanical Blooms stamp set.

How can you not love this Raspberry Tart DSP?  The colors are beautiful together.   Very yummy indeed.  I had to include additional pics of this card as well to show you some of the little details.

There are 4 cut out layers to each flower.  The first flower layer is Crystal Effects mixed with a touch of Riding Hood Red re-inker topped with Micro Beads.  Next flower layer is Crystal Effects with a dusting of Dazzling Diamonds.  The third & forth flower layers are just Crystal Effects.  The flower stems were created with Green Bead Duo.  I tried out my SU! dotted texturz plate and  Scallop Oval Punch (in love).  Added Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon and a Kiwi Kiss Corduroy Button.

mja-blog-march-6-3There is stitching to both the upper and lower card front to pull the card together.  I added some of the green beads along the bottom to coordinate with the flower stems.  Distressing also applied to areas of the card.

Check out what the rest of the girls have created for todays sketch (they will amaze you):  Beate Johns, Cambria Turnbow, Charmaine Ikach, Jenn Balcer, and Lori Craig.  I can’t forget guest designer Bev Rousch who also created a sample today for you to view🙂
