NICU sign #2 and #3 August 22, 2012

I was so excited to place the sign from my prior post on a itty bitty babies isolette this past weekend.  I was given the task of creating two more name tags this week.  It helps, when making these name tags, to have seen/met the babies.  The motivation was with me the whole time I was creating these.   YOU WILL ONLY GET A PIC WITH THE MAIN DETAIL AREA.  THE REST OF THE TAG HAS THE BABIES INFO ON IT.

NICU sign #2……Yep!  Using up all the hoarded retired items I have here.  The Real Red will definitely bring some color to the NICU environment.   All Items are retired except for the stamped sentiment from Itty Bitty Banners and coordinating Bitty Banners Framelit dies.    Retired With All My Heart Stamp Set; Retired Sending Love DSP; Retired Corduroy Brad; Retired Bigz Island Floral Die.

NICU sign #3 above…..Super, super cute!   I used Rich Razzleberry, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, White Vellum, and Sweet Pea DSP Paper Stack; Beautiful Wings Embosslit die, Chocolate Chip Ink; Stampin Sponge, Sewing Machine.   I did not use a stamp set for this one.

Know what’s going to be difficult with making these signs?  I can’t make multiples of the same name tags.  I could… but I’d have to wait 3-4 months before using it again.  It’s best not to have two of the same style/colors/theme floating around the environment . We do read names, but it’s best if no one sign is the same.

Hope you enjoy.  Have a great day!

NICU sign #1 August 18, 2012

Filed under: NICU name signs — mjalbright @ 2:37 am

Since I’m on call tonight and can’t sleep until the safe time of 0400, I decided to start making the NICU isolette name signs I mentioned earlier this week.

I used mostly retired Stampin’ Up! items/papers and some current.  I can’t even tell you what I used.  I didn’t keep track of colors at all.  I can tell you that I watercolored on Shimmery White.   I also whipped out my handy iPhone for the pic (at this hour, there was no way I was gonna use the “good camera” and photo cube/prop.

The Designer Paper and Vanilla cardstock continues to the right where there is room for a babies name and all other vital information. This is going to look so nice on an isolette…and I’m sure the parents will appreciate it as well.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great day!

frustrating day August 15, 2012

To try and get back into the swing of things, I made the decision to venture into the my dusty stamping room.  OH MY!!!  My goal today was to sort out all the retired items.  I quickly began to panic.  Panic in a way that could only be resolved with the idea that I’d have to purchase more, uh-hummm, current stamping goodies.

How could 90% of my stamping necessities be retired?  I only took 1 year off!   This cabinet holds all of my Stampin’ Up! stamps.  The stamps on the counter are the only ones that aren’t retired (wiping tears).

Now I have current and retired items mingling in the same area.  This is going to take a while to get situated.

I’ve come to the conclusion that I have to use up all this retired paper and accessories ASAP.  With that warning, you will probably be seeing posts using “old supplies”.  I’ll be making baby name tags to identify isolettes/cribs for the NICU I work at.

Thanks for stopping by.  Enjoy your day!

I’m still alive:)
